about
The word Texas conjures ideas of vast landscapes, barren lands, dry deserts and scorching sunrises. This couldn't be further from the hometown of Brighton dreamers Hanya, the trio on the rise since the release of their EP 'Sea Shoes' last Spring, however, this track will have you dreaming for lands anew.
The writing and recording of Texas took place in the group's individual homes, attempting to piece together their haphazard equipment in rented accommodation, to build a home studio capable of giving their latest track life.
Guitarist Heather has this to say:
"Texas was written whilst the world was hunkering down for lockdown, an experiment in working remotely as a group. As humans, we're so damn nervous, the anxiety that follows unpredictability has always fascinated me. I wanted to explore the idea of aching to run away with someone, to tell them everything, to have 'the chat' after the startings of a relationship - the
head-over-heels uncertainty, the self-doubt and the desire to know each other entirely."
